Since the allocation of funds for the development of educational computers in 1985, the use of ICT in science education has been promoted in line with the enhancement of the ICT environment. This paper summarizes the actual status of ICT use in science education to date, based on major domestic academic journals such as Journal of Research in Science Education and Journal of Science Education in Japan, and examines the content of ICT use in each of three learning situations (simultaneous learning, individual learning, and collaborative learning).
