In this paper, affordance was examined in terms of the natural environment, nature experience, and place, and its relationship to these from he perspective of affordance as advocated by Gibson. Affordance in nature experience was considered to be the adaptation of the individual to the natural environment. In outdoor activities, instructors need to observe children until they fully understand and act upon the affordances offered in nature. The instructor needs to understand that the \ntime and reactions of each individual will be different there. The natural environment offers many affordances beyond those of everyday life. It was suggested that the many affordances experienced in the natural environment from childhood to elementary school remain as the original experience, and that as adults they are expressed by adult language as the original experience or landscape.
